Local Emergency Response Plan to Deal with Virus

Several members of Addalachenai Local Inter Religious Committee (LIRC) have joined forces to design an emergency response and disaster management plan that can be implemented to deal with the Covid 19 crisis that is gripping the country.

As a first step, they distributed dry rations in collaboration with civil society organizations in the area. Young committee members have been sent out to raise awareness about proper hygiene habits to prevent the spread of the virus. They are also assisting traffic police officers to control and manage the traffic when curfew is lifted temporarily.
